Our Mission

A family dedicated to serve as advocates to improve the quality of life, for youth and young adults facing debilitating diseases. The foundation will provide funding for educational and medical assistance, we will also serve as advocates for quality health care treatment. The Foundation website will serve as a medical clearinghouse to allow self-identification for individual care, which will assist medical staff with global treatment for individuals with Sickle Cell Disease.
A Letter from our Family
Dear Friend,

The Gibson Family Charity (GFC) was founded out of the LOVE and commitment for family and friends suffering with the Sickle Cell Anemia (SCD) disease. Through their journey they began to see the need for education and change needed in Health Care Legislation.
​
One look in his eyes, shares all the hope and desires that this world has to offer; however, in 2015, a family sat in prayer waiting for those eyes to open again. Due to the lack of medical education of SCD, medical staff personnel administered a near lethal dose of morphine. I wish I could tell you that this is uncommon, it’s not, people that live with SCD suffer mis-diagnosis and painful hospital experiences daily.

Make a personal donation.
Your donation will help us educate parents, train medical staff and support Health Care Legislations. It will help us open the doors to a much-needed Hydration Center in the Los Angeles area. A center geared toward proactively providing the medical attention needed to prevent a SCD crisis. Your donations will also be used to send SCD children to camp, to learn the necessary skills needed for pain management, resources for SCD and how to navigate the the shift from pediatric care to adult care and the overall education experience.
